Fred began playing drums at the age of 8. Over the years, he developed his skills further playing with his schools jazz band and award-winning show bands. He gained performance experience in the Iowa City and Des Moines area by playing at such venues as Elrays and Johnston Tunes at Twilight with The Squares. Though Fred can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are metal and rock which had great influence on his style of playing. Fred loves music because it provides a creative outlet and loves teaching music because he loves to learn and improve his skills.
