Matthew began playing guitar the age of 7. Over the years, he developed his skills further by playing taking lessons, playing in school and in local bands, and working in music stores. He gained performance experience in the Asbury Park area by playing at such venues as the Saint. Though Matthew can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are the Beatles, Johnny Cash, and Frank Sinatra, which had great influence on his style of playing. Matthew loves music because its a fun way to express oneself and connect with others and loves teaching music because lessons had such a positive impact on him.
