I began piano lessons at the age of 4 and 1/2 years old. My first teacher was a former student of John Thompson. I studied with the best teachers, including teachers from the Juilliard School. I started giving private concerts at the Conservatory in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 13. I entered various competitions, including Alabama Music Teachers Competitions, as well as International Competitions, including the Dealey Competition in Dallas and the International Bach Competition in Washington, DC. I was also very active in church music and choir music, playing for the choirs in my high school. After I graduated from high school, I went to New York and studied privately with Francis Kuhns. She had previously taught at Juilliard and received her training in Paris. My mentor and teacher, Christopher Czaza Sager, resides in Hollander, and still concertizes throughout Europe. I believe in giving students technique and some knowledge of music history, as they begin lessons. There is so much information resulting from my background to express. I have played Concertos, full solo recitals, chamber music, and opera accompaniment. There is so much more to say, but I think I have given you a good idea of my work and beliefs, as a teacher and pianist.
