Claire has always loved music from an early age. She began playing piano and organ at the age of six and continued her education by performing independently, in groups, and accompanying others. Her musical influences include baroque and romantic composers. Claire's favorite thing about music is how it allows her to momentarily escape from reality and feel powerful and her favorite thing about teaching music is interacting with people who have passions. One of her favorite teaching experiences was meeting with students for the first time. When taking lessons with Claire you can expect patience and excitement. Claire is currently pursuing organ credit hours through the BYU independent study program with the help of her instructor.
Private Education:
Claire has been taking piano and organ lessons for eleven years-since she was six from an instructor with a masters and doctorate in organ.
Performing Experience:
Claire has experience both playing in groups and independently. She has performed in a piano quintet annually for the last eleven years, a symphony summer program, several piano and organ duets, has provided music for several church services, and has accompanied many independent vocalists and instrumentalists. She also has experience playing independently in both piano and organ, performing Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary repertoire in both religious and secular settings.
Experience Teaching:
Claire has been teaching piano lessons with the piano adventures curriculum for the past four months. She has taught a nine year old and an eleven year old girl.
