John began playing guitar at the age of 11. Over the years, he developed his skills further by practicing for long hours, taking lessons, researching artists, and using video resources like Youtube. He gained performance experience in the Atlanta area by playing at such venues as the EARL, 529, Star Bar, Boggs Social, and Variety Playhouse with acts such as Stonerider, Y'all, and Clawdad. Though John can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are jazz and rock which had great influence on his style of playing. John loves music because it is a lifelong amazing feeling just to listen, learn, and perform, and loves teaching music because he wants others to find that feeling for themselves too.
