Guitar Lessons

2 Years
Hi, my name is Christopher. I've been a musician for 26 years and a guitarist for 25, but I've been a lover of music since the cradle. I grew up listening to a very diverse array of music, giving me an eclectic taste and nimble hand when it comes to styles. This range has allowed me to explore jazz, rock, punk, funk, country, alternative, and all the ineffable in-betweens in my private practice and in my various musical endeavors. Teaching is a joy. I love deciphering the best manner to introduce and explain concepts to people, and the look of excitement on their faces and they begin to Get It. I absolutely live for that feeling. I bring decades of experience playing acoustic and electric guitar, as well as a flexible schedule, saintly patience, and desire to positively influence the lives of those I come across.
Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Students should expect patience, humor, and eclecticism. I come to my lessons with a lifelong passion for music, and over 25 years of facility on my instrument. I am not a shredder, but I play well and have a wide array of styles that I dabble in. My aim is to make lessons interesting at minimum, if not fun. There are no rigorous texts or demands to study specific pieces that may not appeal to you. I aim to challenge once it's clear you have a handle on the basics, but it's funner for me and my students to explore their own interests. Why wouldn't you want to learn why the song you like works the way it does? Demystifying music makes it more accessible, but also highlights what makes it special in the first place. As an instructor, I strive to guide students through that journey. If you don't become a superstar, you'll at least have tools toward self-expression. Remember: Art. Is. For. Everyone.
