About Me

Hello, my name is Rachel and I am a vocalist from Boston, Massachusetts. I have been a student of music for over 10 years. My musical influences include soul music genres and I also enjoy world music genres I know a bit of Spanish and enjoy salsa and bachata! My teaching style can best be described as student centered. My teaching philosophy can be best described by saying that I value the comfort and comprehension of my students. In my lessons, you can expect to learn that knowledge is expandable and mistakes help us solidify that knowledge I encourage mistakes! I like to tell my students that although music has rules you have to know them to break them. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the light in a student's eyes after they have overcome an educational hurdle. My favorite performance was a performance of Sweeney Todd during my sophomore year at Berklee. My students love that I am down to earth, but about their success. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach Intro to Ear Training Solfege, Music Theory, and beginner flute.
