Review About Me
My musical influences are from the "roots" of rock and roll. Growing up, I listened to iconic groups such as The Temptations, The Drifters and The Beatles. Although I have an excellent lead voice (baritone/tenor), harmonizing has always been my passion. In addition to the above mentioned groups, my biggest personal influence was my Uncle who sang in a popular local "oldies" group. I would listen to cassette tapes of their live performances over and over until I knew each of the 4-part harmonies perfectly. (I still listen to those recordings-only now they are on my ipod!)
John B. has over 20+ years of music experience in the Burgettstown area.
John B. is proficient in and teaches Vocal Lessons .Formal Education:
I have a degree in specialized business from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the Music Production and Video Production program.
Performing Experience:
At the age of 20 (1991), I founded and fronted an "oldies" band ('50's and '60's) that performed in the tri-state area for over 10 years. From there I joined an "upscale" private party and wedding band known as "The John Parker Band" which performs locally in Pittsburgh as well as Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Chicago and Florida. I still currently perform with them. In addition to the John Parker Band, I have been touring nationally with The VOGUES for 3 years. The Vogues had several Top 10 hits in the late '60's and early '70's. I provide the 4th vocal harmony (varies per song) and also some leads. I also have a "solo" act that I perform for local nursing homes and senior citizen centers as a way of giving back to the community.
