Cole is a talented percussionist and pianist who constantly strives for success. Starting Piano at Nine years old, he began to thrive with a passion of music. The love of piano branched off into the love of percussion when he started learning percussion at 12 years old. Currently, he studies at Oklahoma City University with a degree path in Percussion Performance. He not only thrives at school but always is looking for outside things like competitions. He had competed in numerous prestigious competitions such as The Great Plains Marimba Competition, Tierras Percussion Competition, Italy Percussive Arts Society Competition, Percussive Arts Society Individual and Ensemble Competition Marimba, and many more. He won the Louise Fracelia Waldorf Grand Prize in Solo performance for his rendition of the Creston Concertino for Marimba. He also has been selected to perform in Summer programs like Nashville Marimba sessions and Quartz Mountain Orchestra Camp. He also has performed in masterclasses with Ji Hye Jung and Blake Tyson. When not performing, he teaches front ensemble at Chickasha High School and is a member of Village United Methodist Church worship team. This year, he helped lead Chickasha High School to an excellent rating at state OSSAA marching contest! The year prior they received a needs improvement score, showing immense improvement between the two years. His love of teaching was sparked because of this experience. Watching his students grow from never playing 4 mallet in their life to becoming comfortable with it and excited about learning fulfilled him!
