About Me

Hi, my name is Zion and I am a drummer from Anderson,Sc. I have been a student of music for many years. I started off as a trombone player in 5th grade and transitioned to the snare drum up until high school, also along with sports. I now play the full drum set for my church and my friends church. My musical influencers are Travis Barker and I also enjoy Johnathan Moffett. My teaching style can best be described as a slow pace get used to feeling the set and slowly build up to play along with drum-less tracks. I like to tell my students it’s okay to mess up and to always relax and feel the music. My favorite thing about teaching is getting to learn different students grow a connection with them and teaching them new skills they can practice and also build the confidence. My favorite performance was playing for my friends church and no one had ever heard me play and to see them shocked I could play so well was a highlight for me performing. My students love that I am a fun instructor and I like to incorporate fun challenges and games while teaching. I primarily teach basics of drumming and can go to intermediate skills, but I can also teach rock music, jazz, blues, church music. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
