Hi, my name is Devyn and I am a vocalist and songwriter from Pasadena, CA. I have been a student of music for the entirety of my 29 years of life. My musical influences include Beyoncéof course and Billie Eilish and I also find inspiration from a wide set range of genres and artist from Classical to Freestyle high energy. My teaching style can best be described as a very intimate self-realization for students and myself and study of unlocking your souls rooted connection to the beauty of Musik. The closest thing to God is…..music ????My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe that everyone can sing but not everyone can SANG and there is no problem with finding exactly where you fit in comfortably. In my lessons, you can expect to learn dictate, annunciate, pronounce and connect. To the music, the lyrics, to the entire feel of whatever piece is to be prepped and performed. I like to tell my students to remember to love thyself and rid of any negative, doubting thought that tries to grab at you. Sparkle! My favorite thing about teaching is when we all begin to show how the music or the rhythm or the beat has been within us all along. It just needed to be unlocked. My favorite performance was Wicked both the musical and the recent movie. I have never cried soooo much in a room full of children as I did after watching the recent movie adaptation….thats all I will say on that matter❤️ My students love that I individualize or personalize the connection between the song and its vocalist. I primarily teach seasoned, advanced students with a fast paced plan of action but I can also teach the simplicity of music theory to those who just want to identify the notes ringing in their heads from time to time..
