Nathan is a Pittsburgh-based jazz and classical vocalist with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. A performer and educator, he brings technical precision and expressive storytelling to both the stage and studio. Nathan’s most recent roles include The Wizard in Conrad Susa’s Transformations and The Banker in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor. He studied under Marianne Cornetti at CMU, an internationally known Verdi mezzo-soprano. He has also been a chorus member with numerous Pittsburgh opera houses, such as Pittsburgh Festival Opera and Pittsburgh Resonance Works. While studying operatic repertoire, Nathan has branched out into other genres such as jazz, pop, and musical theatre. ​ He earned his undergraduate degree in vocal performance from Duquesne University and has lived in Pittsburgh for the last 6 years. During his operatic career at Duquesne University, Nathan played Lurcanio in Handel’s Ariodante and Bill in Barber’s Hand of Bridge. ​ In 2021, Nathan attended the Bologna International Opera Academy, an intensive top-rated summer program. Whilst performing, Nathan was able to work with famed conductor Leone Magiera, renowned stage director Stefano Vizioli, and numerous professors from both the Academy of Vocal Arts and the Curtis Institute. ​ At the Mary Pappert School of Music, Nathan placed as a finalist in the Women’s Advisory Board competition and placed first in the Marguerite Dougherty Voice Competition. ​ Nathan has also branched out into music education. For three summers, he taught voice lessons at the Patricia Keith Studio of Music in Boyertown, PA. While employed, he teaches students of all ages in the genres of jazz, pop, and classical, as well as created and ran elementary music camps for young musicians in both piano and voice.
