A little bit about me. I’m 43, originally from Pennsylvania. I received my Bachelors degree in music with elective studies in business from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania in 2007. While in college, I performed with several drum and bugle corps and taught at several high schools as their percussion teacher. I marched with the Reading Buccaneers in 2000 winning high percussion title, The Empire Statesmen from 2. During those two years I had the opportunity to march in the GW Bush presidential inauguration. Also, we competed at the World Band Championships in the Netherlands. That tour included stops in Paris, Belgium, and Germany. In 2003, 2004, and 2006 I marched with the Hawthorne Caballeros winning DCA World Championships in 2003. During those years I also performed with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra as a sub. I was also a guest percussionist with the Lycoming College Wind Corale and also the Bucknell University Symphony Band. Will still living in PA, I taught percussion at Shikellamy High School, and Williamsport High School. I also wrote percussion music for Eisenhower Middle High School. In 2007, I was a tour administrator with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. Upon moving to Florida, I taught at several high schools and indoor percussion ensembles. Those include Sickles HS in Tampa, Northside Christian School winning FFCC indoor circuit in 2010, in St. Petersburg, Fivay HS in Hudson Florida, and RPT independent percussion which competes in FFCC and WGI. This season I am teaching with Civitas Indoor Percussion. They are a WGI world class ensemble where I will be one of their snare techs. I will be moving Aug. 30th and my wife’s travel nursing contract last until Nov. 1st, however there is a possibility we will extend her contract or stay in the area longer. I will be available to teach any outdoor or indoor percussion as well as private lessons. I also am available to arrangement percussion music as well.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner -
During our first lesson we will layout goals and interests. I am a teacher who tailors lessons based on student interest. All beginning students will start with the basic fundamentals of music. (Reading and proper rhythmic counting). I will discuss with parents the method books and items needed for our beginning lessons unit. All percussion revolves around the understanding of tempo and rhythmic recognition. Because of this, all beginning students will start on a drum pad and general snare drum sticks. As lessons progress, students will be able to take what they've learned and apply those concepts to other percussion instruments (ie drumset, keyboard, timpani, etc...)
