About Me
Hey there! My name is John! I've been playing guitar for 10 years now, and bass guitar for 8 years! I've been a part of many musical groups and activities in high, such as jazz band, musical theater orchestra, string orchestra, and in college, a part of Liberty University's Guitar Ensemble! I also dabble in film scoring and composing my own music, and at times, I do live performances with different groups! Teaching students, I love to interact with students of all ages, caring about the music and helping them grow into talented musicians. I want teaching to be a fun and comfortable environment where students of any age can enjoy learning their instrument, enjoy playing and practicing music, and to also develop a strong with the students, as I want to see each and every one of my students to succeed and value their gifts as much as possible!

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Whether you just picked up the bass or have been playing for a few years, I want to provide a fun, memorable, and educational experience for you and create a comfortable environment to help you grow, change, and improve as a bassist! With my lessons, you are part of the organization process and your lessons. I want to help you achieve your specific goals, to help achieve what YOU want out of learning bass, whether big or small. In our lessons, some topics we will cover while working on your personal goals include improvisation, learning and playing covers, researching and applying various techniques and the mind behind many famous and talented guitarists, aspects of music theory, application of moods and emotions of songs, compositional skills, etc. During our first lesson, we will discuss your desired goals and what you want to specifically learn on the bass and what genres you're interested in playing, and we will set up your own personal plan together. Performing Experience:

Performed in Archbishop Ryan High Schools' Jazz band, Pit Orchestra, String orchestra, Pep band from 2. Worked at Media Theater for summer kid productions from 2. Performed in Liberty University's Classical Guitar ensemble from 2022-present day and attended School of Music gala as lobby performer in 2023, then performed on stage at Lynchburg Academy Center of Arts in 2024.

Experience Teaching:

Helped a former teacher with his lessons by helping to teach students he couldn't get to right away. Taught a few kids guitar at my home.
