My name is Peter, and I was born and raised in the upstate of South Carolina. According to my parents, I began singing before I could even talk. I have been singing ever since. I sang in my church choir from age 8 to age 20. I have also had formal voice training. I attended the Fine Arts Center by Wade Hampton High School for 2 years to study voice and music theory. I then attended Furman University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance. Since graduating college, I have served as music coordinator for a missionary team here in SC, I have led praise and worship as Director of Youth at a church in Greenwood, and I have sung many gigs at multiple churches in the area. In my free time, I enjoy singing and playing the guitar, playing the piano with my wife, and singing along to my Spotify playlists. I love teaching because I believe music is at the core of who we are as human beings, and every person should have a chance to explore and cultivate their natural abilities. I teach both classical and musical theater styles of singing. I teach from a whole-body approach, considering how the whole of the body interacts with the voice and the singer. While I consider repertoire and performance to be important, I prioritize technique building to equip singers to master the art rather than a singular piece of music. In any given lesson, the student can expect a fun and engaging environment. I look forward to working with students and seeing their voices blossom.
