I have now been playing drums and percussion for over 27-years. I primarily play and am comfortable teaching “the basics”, rock, alternative, metal, punk, and church style drumming. I started playing drums through the traditional education route in my 6th grade school band where I played a variety of percussion instruments, including: snare drum, marimba, xylophone, tympani, etc. At the age of 13, I mowed yards all day, everyday for an entire summer to save up and buy my first drum set a red wine Pearl export select drum set with Zildjian cymbals. I continued playing in the school band and then joined the high school drumline in 9th grade where I spent four years marching tenor drums. Additionally, during high school I played in various bands performing both cover songs and writing / composing original music. I have experience in both live performance and studio recording. For most of my adult drumming experience, I regularly play in church bands and toy with a YouTube channel where I post cover videos, church playing, and other performances.
