I’ve been told I have extreme patience and I’m incredibly easy to get along with — and that really matters when you’re learning something new. Guitar should feel exciting, not intimidating. I teach with the belief that the guitar isn’t just an instrument — it becomes part of who you are. It becomes your voice, your creativity, your way of expressing things you can’t always say out loud. Music is one of the few things we all connect to. Even songs I don’t personally love? I still enjoy playing them — because the guitar itself is just that much fun. I love teaching through songs. Every song holds dozens of learning opportunities if you know where to look. While we’re learning something you actually enjoy playing, we’re also building real skills underneath it. Here’s what we focus on: * **Basic motor skills and coordination** * **Proper tuning and instrument care** * **Ear training (this is huge)** * **Technique first, theory second** Theory absolutely has value — no question. But your ear is the real superpower. If you can hear it, you can play it. That’s where confidence and freedom come from. My goal isn’t just to teach you chords. It’s to help you build a relationship with the instrument so it becomes something you genuinely enjoy for life.
