About Me

Hi, my name is Olusegun and I am a drummer originally from Washington, DC. I have been a student of music since the age of 3 years old. My musical influences include QuestLove, Dennis Chambers, Aaron Spears, Travis Barker, Buddy Rich and I also enjoy Ginger Baker and Sheila E. My teaching style can best be described as interactive and hands on. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I am a demonstrator/coach in my lessons. You can expect to learn fundamentals and timing. I like to tell my students PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. My favorite thing about teaching is getting to see the growth and development of my students. Mainly when they learn a new groove or get more comfortable with their rudiments. My students love that I take time to show them where their skills can take them. I primarily teach R&B or Pop, but I can also teach Jazz, Blues and genres of music. My approach as a teacher is to meet the student where they are at. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
