Emily has always loved music from an early age. She began playing piano at the age of 5 and continued her education by taking lessons from her talented mother and later the incredible Sybil Kuder. Her musical influences include all the classics; especially Chopin, Mozart, and Debussy, as well as her piano and orchestra teachers throughout the years. Emily's favorite thing about music is how it makes you feel so many emotions so deeply and empowers you. Her favorite thing about teaching music is helping students become musicians that find joy, solace, and entertainment through music. One of her favorite teaching experiences was when a student got so excited to play a piece, he started jumping up and down and knocked a tooth out on the piano bench! (He was ok!!)
