Hi, my name is Vicki! I have been a student of music for 45 years as my music is always learning. My musical influences include classical music. I also enjoy jazz. My teaching style can best be described as inclusive of all styles. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I teach what my students want to learn. In my lessons, you can expect to learn note reading, ear training, and have fun! I like to tell my students music is like reading a book. If you don't like the book, sometimes you can pick another. You are still reading. I use this approach when music gets heavy. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the excitement in my students faces. My favorite performance was Clair de lune by Debussy. My students love that I make lessons fun. I primarily teach ear training, exciting songs and composing, but I can also teach the basics. My approach as a teacher is to make music fun!
