Daniel H.

My name is Daniel and I grew up submersed in music from as young as I can remember. My parents were both teachers and my father was a band director in my early childhood. Music of all kinds was a constant in our household. I've played in blues, country, jazz, funk, tejano, reggae, swing bands, orchestra, musical theater, and church choir's. I love all kindsof music from many genres. While electric bass has always been my primary instrument, I have played baritone, trombone, tuba, double bass, and some percussion instruments. I started playing semi profesionally and doing studio work in my early teens and played proffesionally touring and locally into my late 20's. I may not be the flashiest bass player, but I have always taken pride in my fundamental pocket playing, groove, and the ability to communicate musically within an ensemble. Now that I have my own young family, I spend most evenings at home. I have taken up coaching my childrens' sports teams over the last few years and that has taught me a patience that definitely translates to teaching music. I really enjoy seeing the progression in my students and little atheletes and watching their confidence grow.
