Hugh has been a musician since the age of 11 when he started playing drums and keyboards in school, though he fell in love with music at an earlier age due his parents both being avid music lovers who had many genres of music spinning on a record player at all times since his birth! Hugh's main instrument is the drums and he has been playing in bands recording and touring since the age of 16. He caught a major break at the age of 18 when he met and began touring with Sean Lennon and the band Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger while living in New York. Hugh first found a spark with teaching music when he moved to wilmington NC. He can teach drums and percussion at an expert level including reading and writing drum notation, and he can teach guitar and bass guitar at an intermediate level. Hugh continues to play in multiple bands and has had a very successful music career and lobes to share his experience with students and music lovers of all ages.
