I primarily focus in songwriting and advanced concepts in music theory for traditional band orchestration, and enjoy teaching students of all levels. I teach guitar, bass, drums, organ, keyboard and piano. I can also teach vibraphone, marimba, ukulele. I have developed multiple different approaches to teaching music to help meet students where they're at, and give them strong skills to play however they want. Part of this focuses on experiential learning through performance, and ear training/sight singing skills to improve auditory transcription and general musicality. I hope to work with students that have an interest in jazz, the musical traditions of Latin America, advanced skills in arranging and improvisation. I also work with experimental approaches to songwriting, including heavily effected genres such as shoegaze, and experimental heavy music from classic metal, thrash, and death, to grindcore, tech-death, post-metalcore, and so on. Will happily teach students of any age and level. I also offer tutoring for students in college level music theory, jazz theory, songwriting, recording techniques and music production in ProTools and Logic.
