I have been playing guitar for about 6 years, and drums for about 2 years. I am very passionate about music, my favorite genres to play are rock and blues music. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner -
When first learning guitar I think it is important to get my student excited about learning guitar. I know popular songs that I can break down into someone more tangible for a student to learn for their first lesson. From their I would teach them beginner guitar chords, tuning the guitar, different picking techniques.
Formal Education:
Since 2019, I have been teaching myself classic rock songs, rhythym and blues, and songwriting techniques. I love exploring music theory and using it as a tool to break out of conventional norms in music! In the past couple years I have began teaching myself drums which has been very fun and challenging
Private Education:
I studied music industry in new orleans for 2 years. This is where I learned audio production techniques and worked as a sound engineer and stage hand.
Performing Experience:
I have played several shows in rock bands. I play mostly original music, and leave room for improvisation live. I have some experience busking (playing in the streets for money) in New Orleans. I regularly attend jam sessions to improve my improvisational skills
Experience Teaching:
I worked as a teacher's assistant in adolescent psychology during my last undergraduate semester at Towson University. I also have have taught friends different guitar techniques and music theory
