Johanna Wiesbrock
To whom it May concern, My name is Johanna Wiesbrock and I worked with Caitlin from 2018 though 2024. From 2018 through 2022 Caitlin and I were both violin teachers at Music House Inc. through which we taught different violin classes at Suder Montessori on Chicago's West Side. From 2022 to 2023 I was a manager at Music House and managed Caitlin as a teacher. Over this period I observed Caitlin grow as an educator. Caitlin has developed a wide range of resources that she can easily access to help students quickly and effectively learn, especially in music classes and in a Suzuki Violin classroom. Caitlin taught in at least 3 different schools in Chicago, in addition to teaching private lessons, and retained these teaching positions for several years. Amongst the violin teachers I managed, Caitlin stood out in her ability to foresee challenges that students would encounter, assuring student success from beginner to intermediate and advanced levels. The students in Caitlin's violin classes were able to excelle under her instruction. The end of year performances that I witnessed from Caitlin's students featured some of the most advanced violin pieces that I've seen grade school students successfully perform. This is undoubtedly due to Caitlin's ability to build positive relationships with students over several years, in addition to her commitment to improving as a teacher. Caitlin also enjoyed teaching general music classes and piano, amongst other subjects, and developed positive relationships with students over several years. I believe that Caitlin is committed to growing as an educator and will be an asset to students, parents, and administrators in a school environment. If you have any further questions please contact me. Johanna Wiesbrock wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001
Julian Castro
To Whom it May Concern, My name is Julian Castro, and I am writing a reference letter on behalf of Caitlin. I worked with Caitlin at Darwin Elementary School from 2 during her Music & Movement classes for Pre-K. My time working with Caitlin was engaging and professional. While we worked together, I admired and respected the way she led classes with enthusiasm, thoughtful lesson planning, and creativity. Caitlin taught hour-long Music & Movement classes daily at Darwin Elementary School and consistently showed up with energy and preparedness. Her joy and knowledge of her content area was passed on to the students with aplomb. Her class was well-structured and helped students not just with the joy of music but with the foundational skills of practice and improvement. Their investment in music was due to Caitlin’s investment in their education. She created an environment that was at once both light-hearted and rigorous. In addition to her enthusiastic energy during class, Caitlin has prepared lesson plans that were balanced and well-paced. Her song choices and activities had a consistent structure which allowed our students to build upon each lesson. Each year we had two performances, and Caitlin’s classes always stole the show. When it was time to perform, I saw students eager to showcase their talent and unity. She also left room for lessons in her class that would enrich their musical education beyond just rehearsing for a performance. I saw my students gain both courage and competence from her classes. Furthermore, Caitlin led her classes with creativity in her teaching and problem solving. Her ability to engage high-energy students during class kept students involved in the learning process. Of course, not every class went perfectly as planned. When there were struggles in class, Caitlin was always quick to attend to the issue while balancing the needs of the whole class. She would address problems in class and think of what changes needed to be made to make improvements, constantly improving her service-delivery. Overall, Caitlin makes an exemplary teacher for early childhood music development. You can see her passion in the way she teaches, her knowledge in her lesson plans, and dedication through her creative approach and problem solving. Any student learning from Caitlin is bound to grow not just musically but in spirit. Julian Castro wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001
