Hi, my name is Nicolas and I am a piano teacher from Moore Oklahoma. I have been a student of music for 18 years. My musical influences include Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Tchaikovsky and I also enjoy more modern music such as stuff you'd hear on the radio. My teaching style can best be described as patient but firm, I want my students to succeed but at the end of the day music is an art and everyone learns at a different pace. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I encourage students to want to learn. In my lessons, you can expect to learn proper technique, music theory, and the songs YOU want to learn. I like to tell my students that this is something to be enjoyed, when I first started at the age of 4 I certainly didn't enjoy it but with the right teacher piano grew to be my passion. My favorite thing about teaching is that I take pride in my students doing well, I love playing and I want the same for all my students. My favorite performance was in college, I had accompanied one of the choirs for a performance of theirs. My students love that I encourage them to learn the music that they enjoy listening to, every song has teaching moments no matter how it sounds. I primarily teach classical piano, but I can also teach jazz or any contemporary as well. My approach as a teacher is to spark an interest in my students so they can enjoy a music filled life.
