Hi, my name is Annie and I am mainly a percussionist residing in Brooklyn, NYC. I have been a student of music for well over 10 years. My popular musical influences include Lady Gaga, Hayley Williams, and many more, but my favorite piece of work I ever played was the Planets Suite by Gustav Holst. My teaching style can best be described as a hybrid between instructor and student centered approaches. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I can be the student too. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basic principals of music all the way up to advanced theory if you'd like. I like to ask my students why they want to learn music and help them achieve that goal. My favorite thing about teaching is making new connections with my students and my peers. My students love that I have a goofy side. My background is mainly within the high school age group, but I can am open to teach anyone! My approach as a teacher is for you to understand music better than when you came into the room, but to also find the motivation and spark that lead you to music in the first place.
