Rachel has always loved music from an early age. She began playing the bassoon at age 12 and continued her education while playing throughout high school until 2013, and has recently begun playing again. Her musical influences include her former private lessons instructor, who taught her everything she knows about the bassoon, as well as her multiple former high school band directors, who taught her to keep going, no matter what. Rachel's favorite thing about music is that it connects everyone, regardless of background or situation, and her favorite thing about teaching music is the reward of seeing anyone grow and succeed in what they are doing, whether it be trying to get better at a run they are struggling with or even succeeding in an audition. One of her favorite teaching experiences was learning from others and understanding that everyone learns differently.
