I started my journey learning guitar in 2010 in Fort Wayne, IN. After only a few years after I started teaching beginner lessons. After teaching I knew I had a passion to not only perform but to educate and teach guitar/music theory. From there I grew more in my skill level, theory knowledge and playing abilities learning multiple styles. I joined local bands and out of town contract bands for corporate events and even got hired to teach guitar at Sweetwater sound. I still teach today online, in person and perform every weekend.

I wanted to learn to play the bass guitar at 63 years old. I started at School of Rock and after a month it just wasn’t for me. I probably should’ve known due to I play Christian music and not hard rock, lol So I heard about Miguel and signed up for lessons and it was the best thing I ever did! I cannot overstate how large an impact Miguel had on my journey into guitar and music in general. I am 42 and at age 40, with no musical background whatsoever, I randomly decided I wanted to start playing guitar and learning about music. 12 years of Grade school. 15 years in the army. 8+ years of college. I have learned a lot of things from a lot of different instructors. Miguel is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He was my first music/guitar teacher. He was always able to meet me at my skill level and my level of musical knowledge. He kept it fun and kept me progressing forward. Regardless of your skill level or goals, if you have the opportunity to sit down and talk guitar with Miguel you should take it. I never would have stopped lessons with him had he not moved out of my area. If he is available to you, sign up and consider yourself lucky for the opportunity. Bridget O'Brien
Miguel was kind, detailed, patient, and is now a wonderful friend. I came in with no experience and learned so much taking weekly lessons for about 6 mos — he broke up info into rigorous but well paced courses. I really liked that he gave me extra material to learn if I had time that week, but was also cool with my own pace I was working full time and taking his class at night. I have no talent in guitar Miguel shreds but I now feel comfortable playing moderate, multi-chord songs to sing with family and friends — exactly what I wanted! He ignited a passion in my son that has been incredible to witness… he is patient, teaches my son things he is interested in, and really takes the time to make sure he understands what he’s learning. Miguel is a rarity in today’s music scene. As a musician, he is fluid and fully free of genre bias. A true lover of music, Miguel is boundless and excels well beyond his contemporaries, but with grace and respect. A phenomenal technical guitarist who is comfortable in any medium. As a teacher, his patience and passion to not only understand what his students need, but to drive that “hunger” and nurture the “learn to improve” mindset of the player, fostering this need to share our love of learning music that defines him as an instructor.
