My musical influences include anything from Jimi Hendrix to Taylor Swift. I play and feel the most confident playing the blues and playing singer/songwriter finger picking kind of music. I teach precision, accuracy, and technique above all things. I tell a student that things should be played slow with bold and accurate stokes first and slowly move up to a faster pace. For rhythm, I teach different picking patterns and strumming patterns. I will also show a student some basic music theory, which is essential if they are ever interested in writing a song. Students will also receive knowledge in the way that they feel is best for them. I can adjust to their learning style and playing style as needed.
