Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Orchestral Lessons

2 Years
Hi, my name is Luke and I am a pianist and percussionist from Southern California, I have been a student of music for 15 years: for 5 years I took the annual Certificate of Merit exam for piano/harp and achieving a level 5 certificate along with a 100% in music theory. I was a percussionist in my youth orchestra for 4 years, specializing in marimba, vibraphone, timpani, and auxiliary percussion; I then moved to primarily playing auxiliary percussion for the Cadenza String Orchestra of Temecula Valley for a year before returning to piano. While I am best at teaching piano, I can also teach orchestral percussion. My teaching style can best be described as holistic, focusing on ear training and hand-feel in conjunction with the music. My teaching philosophy is that people should enjoy both playing music and the learning process. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to value working to understand your piece and technique, as well as what does and doesn't feel good for you. My favorite thing about teaching is watching that "aha!" moment that people get when everything starts to click, and their hard work starts to pay off. My students love that I work at their pace and give detailed instructions for improvement. I primarily teach Classical, Baroque, and Romantic era music, but I can teach anything the student brings to me. Thank you for taking a look at my profile, feel free to contact me at my cell: Hope to meet you soon!
