Hi, my name is Hunter and I am a multi-instrumentalist here in Upstate, SC. I have been a student of music for over 25 years. My musical influences include early music and I also enjoy folk music. My teaching style can best be described as patience with reasonable expectations. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I enjoy helping folks find their own unique voice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn not only the music but the history behind the music as well as the technique to achieve said music. I like to tell my students that if they stay dedicated and are ok with making mistakes, it all pays off eventually. My favorite thing about teaching is making the world a better place through music education. My favorite performance was in 2017 when my ensemble was the first ensemble to play Bach in the Subways on period instruments in Union Station, Los Angeles. My students love that I provide a learning environment where one feels they can't make a mistake and be human.
