Evan has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar at the age of 9 and continued his education by pursuing private lessons and achieving a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Guitar from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His musical influences vastly vary, including King Crimson, Lage Lund, Wilco, Pat Metheny, AFI, John Scofield, My Chemical Romance. Evan's favorite thing about music is creating your own sonic landscape/universe and his favorite thing about teaching music is seeing someone find their voice or realize their love for their instrument. One of his favorite teaching experiences was working with Chris Connelly from Ministry preparing a group class for a punk showcase.
