Hey there folks, I'm Peyton. I'm a percussionist and I've been playing since I was eight years old. My teaching style revolves around building a solid fundamental base that can be used to work towards whatever stylistic endeavors interest the student. I don't just want to check boxes like a standardized grading scale, I want to help my students work towards a growing appreciation for the craft. I have experience playing all sorts of percussive instruments from your standard symphony percussion, to drum set, steel drums, Japanese taiko, and just about anything that makes a sound when you strike it. My lessons will start with basic stick control, rudiments, and dynamic control. Once those are under control we can move on to a more personalized study plan and work on songs, solos, or ensemble pieces.
