He began playing saxophone at the age of 10 and continued his education by graduating from Jackson state university with a degree in music technology. Zay'Brel's favorite thing about music is how it can connect with emotions and his favorite thing about teaching music is inspiring young musicians. One of his favorite teaching experiences was being section leader in his university's marching band.
