Hickory began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 12. Over the years, he developed his skills further by performing in bands and studying music throughout middle and high school. He gained performance experience in the Portland area by playing at such venues as Turn! Turn! Turn! and with acts such as My Head Is My Only House. Though Hickory can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are rock and jazz which had great influence on his style of playing.Hickory loves music because it's a really important form of self-expression and loves teaching music because I want to help other people have as much fun as I am.
