I come from Tarija, Bolivia, a land where music is not optional, it is part of who we are. In Tarija, children grow up surrounded by cuecas, serenatas, guitar nights, and festivals where everyone sings. Music is how we celebrate, how we heal, and how we connect. I started singing as a young child at family gatherings, community festivities, and cultural celebrations. In Tarija, you do not wait for a stage. The stage is wherever people gather. That environment shaped my voice, my ear, and my confidence. Singing became natural, expressive, and deeply emotional for me. Tarija has a rich musical tradition, known for its poetic lyrics, romantic melodies, and strong vocal interpretation. Growing up influenced by that tradition taught me not only technique, but storytelling. In our culture, you do not just sing notes. You sing meaning. As a musician, I value vocal expression, breath control, rhythm, and emotional delivery. Singing has also been a powerful personal tool for stress management and emotional balance in my life. I teach my students that the voice is not just an instrument. It is an extension of identity and confidence. As an instructor, I focus on: • Helping students feel comfortable and confident. • Building strong vocal foundations through breath and control. • Encouraging emotional interpretation and stage presence. • Creating a supportive and structured learning environment.
