Hi, my name is Woochan though I usually go by Andy and I have been a student of music for over 20 years playing several instruments like piano, cello, and bass guitar. I also have a background in choral directing and singing. My musical influences include a cappella style music, improvisational music, and stage performance. My teaching style can best be described as person-centered and narrative because I believe music is a medium of expression and storytelling. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I work empathetically with students to achieve evidence-based improvements. In my lessons, you can expect to learn musical technique and theory. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students improve and find joy in playing music. My favorite performance was in the regional ICCA a cappella championship where I won several awards for best soloist and best arrangement. My students love that I am a calm and supportive presence. I primarily teach piano and vocals, but I can also teach bass guitar and cello. My approach as a teacher is to make and work towards individual goals. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
