Laniece H.

Laniece began singing at the age of five and has since honed her skills through performances, competitions, and concerts. She gained valuable experience performing in the Long Island, New York area, including the ACTSO NAACP competition, where she advanced to the nationals in Houston, Texas. She was awarded first place in the “Riverhead Idol” competition and was invited to perform annually at the Harvest Gospel Concert. Laniece was inspired to pursue music by her grandmother, who earned a degree in music from Juilliard School of Music and taught vocal and piano lessons for over three decades. Following in her grandmother’s footsteps, Laniece earned a bachelor’s degree in music and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education at Virginia Union University. Where she was crowned the 97th Miss Virginia Union University. Within her tenure at VUU, Laniece had the opportunity to perform for various world renowned artists such as Hezekiah Walker, William Murphy, Anthony Turner, and Deitrick Hardin. Though Laniece can teach many different genres of music, her musical personal favorites are Broadway, Gospel, and Pop and R&B which had great influence on her style of singing. Laniece loves music because it brings out a sense of confidence from within allowing you to express yourself in a way mere words could never describe and loves teaching music because it is the key to inspiration from generation to generation.
