During his 18 years in the field, he developed his skills further by earning a BA in Music Education and Jazz from Temple University and completing Orff Schulwerk Level 1 coursework at the University of the Arts. He gained performance experience in the Philadelphia and international area by playing at such venues as local jazz clubs and various educational institutions across the US and Asia and with acts such as the school choir, bucket drumming, and Latin and West African percussion ensembles he directed. Though Justin can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Jazz and trumpet pedagogy which had great influence on his style of playing.  Justin loves music because it serves as a powerful, universal tool for innovation and cultural exchange and loves teaching music because he believes strongly in student-centered, interactive learning and thrives on helping students of all backgrounds reach their full potential.
