Guitar Lessons

I started playing guitar in 1981 at the age of 10. My guitar instructors were Frank Hoydick and Paul Gabriel CT Blues Hall of Fame musician. I was taught guitar using the Mel Bay method and can read sheet music. I minored in music at Salve Regina University. I have played in numerous bands and currently do. As well as putting together an acoustic duo with my wife. I have taught on and off throughout the years as well as having taught myself a lot of guitar repair as well.
Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
I want students to learn at their own pace. I want to help students understand the basic fundamentals of the guitar while also incorporating some music that they can start to play today! Guitar doesn't have to be intimidating. When I first learned I learned the Mel Bay method which basically taught you the notes and how to read sheet music and also the very basics of music theory. While learning to sight read is somewhat important, with today's music, you need to have fun and enjoy learning the guitar. Learning how to play and have some common knowledge about basic theory can help a guitarist achieve a very good level of playing ability.
