Josh has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar at the age of 10 and continued his education by taking private lessons for years, joining an extracurricular student jazz band and starting a metal band with his friends at 14. He started performing and touring in high school and continued doing that with many other bands to today where he still performs and tours with his current band. His musical influences include everything from classical and world music all the way through modern rock, jazz, soul, country and bluegrass. Josh's favorite thing about music is how fun it is and how it can bring people together and deepen our connections with each other and the art of music and his favorite thing about teaching music is experiencing students discovering these things about music which in turn help them learn about themselves and the world around them. One of his favorite teaching experiences was teaching a student one of his grandmothers favorite songs so they could perform it for her on her birthday.
