Hi! My name is Carlos. I’m a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I began my piano studies at fifteen with four years of private lessons. I also studied piano in high school and majored in it in college. While classically trained, I’m comfortable with a variety of styles. Church music is also very close to my heart. I’m a worship director in Melbourne, FL. I have over twenty years of experience in church music working with bands, singers, choirs, and writing orchestrations. I believe that as a teacher, it’s my job to help you find your own sound. Whether you’re working on a piece by Beethoven or improvising a 12-bar blues, it’s important to understand structure and feel. To me, music theory is as important as picturing what you’re playing.
