Hachya began playing snare drum & piano at the age of 10 yrs old. Over the years, she developed her skills further by participating in Drum Corps and marching for Oklahoma State and Tennessee Tech. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Therapy in 1995. She gained performance experience in concert, symphonic, orchestral, jazz, musicals, & church music by playing at such venues as The Bryan Symphony Orchestra, TTU Jazz Band, Various Churches, Psychiatric Settings and The Community School of the Arts in Fort Smith. Though Hachya can teach many different genres of music, her musical personal favorites are contemporary Christian, Pop/Rock and Country which had great influence on her style of playing. Hachya loves music because it has the power to promote healing and wholeness and loves teaching music because once a student can learn to read rhythms, he/she can basically continue learning and growing on his/her own. Hachya is also a Drums Alive Master Trainer, Orff Certified & a Drum Circle Facilitator Trained under Arthur Hull.
