Arturo has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar and bass as a teenager and continued his musical education at The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music in New York, where he earned a BFA in Jazz & Contemporary Music, and later at Berklee College of Music, where he completed a Master’s degree in Global Jazz on full scholarship. His musical influences include jazz, rock, Latin music, and contemporary improvisational artists. Arturo's favorite thing about music is its ability to connect people and create meaningful shared experiences. His favorite thing about teaching music is helping students discover their own voice and gain confidence through learning an instrument. One of his favorite teaching experiences was guiding beginner students from their first chords all the way to performing confidently in recitals and small ensembles.
