I began playing guitar in 1986 and have been in love with it ever since. As a youngster, I was influenced by Randy Rhoads, Paul Gilbert, Eddie VanHalen, and various other "shredders" of the day. In later years, I became infatuated with The Beatles and Brian Wilson. I believe it is good to have at least a general knowledge of Music Theory. But, I also think using your ears is key. I like to mix lessons with theory, improvisational skills, and technique. I keep the student interested by teaching them songs that they request.
