Hi, my name is Tareq and I am a guitarist from Johns Creek. I have been a student of music for 12 years. My musical influences include George Benson and I also enjoy Stevie Wonder. My teaching style can best be described as student-centered. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I give the student as much time to be active as possible. In my lessons, you can expect to learn at a fast pace while retaining everything. I like to tell my students there is no limit to the skill they can achieve. My favorite thing about teaching is showing others they can do anything. My favorite performance was Masayoshi Takanaka's Rainbow Goblins Story Live. My students love that I am consistent and that I never give up on them, no matter what they're struggling with. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach music theory, bass guitar, songwriting, and music production. My approach as a teacher is to show you that you can make good progress. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
I teach all levels of bass guitar, from complete beginners to advanced players. As a professional musician, my goal is not only to help you improve quickly, but to make sure you truly retain and understand every skill you develop along the way. At the beginner level, we will focus on the foundations of bass playing. This includes proper posture, hand positioning, understanding the parts of the bass, tuning the instrument, and developing good finger mechanics for both the fretting and plucking hands. You will also learn how to read bass tablature, understand simple rhythm notation, lock in with a groove, and begin playing along with full songs. For intermediate players, we will dive deeper into the musical role of the bass. This includes learning scales and positions across the fretboard, understanding keys, chord tones, and how bass lines support harmony. We will work on groove development, timing, rhythmic control, and learning how to create strong bass lines within different musical styles. At this level, we also introduce more structured practice routines and warm-ups to prepare you for advanced playing. For advanced bassists, the focus shifts toward refinement, musicality, and style mastery. We will explore advanced techniques, deeper music theory for improvisation and composition, and genre-specific bass approaches. This includes developing complex grooves, expanding fretboard fluency, improving articulation and dynamics, and learning how to craft bass lines that truly drive a band.

At the beginner level, we will learn things like proper posture, hand placement, guitar parts, tuning the instrument, and basic finger mechanics. By the end of the beginner lessons, you will also learn how to read guitar tablature, reaad chord diagrams, and eventually play through full songs. For more inmtermediate players, we will dive into simple music theory and its place in the guitar world. This means mastering scales and scale positions, introducing different keys and modes, chord changes, progressions, and positions, developing fretboard fluency, and pore complex rhythms. We'll also introduce more advanced practice routines and warm-ups to prepare for potential advanced lessons. For the guitarists looking to break into the advanced territory of the instrument, we'll look at mastering specialized styles. This entails learning advanced techniques, breaking past simple chord shapes and positions, fully utilizing music theory for improvisation, among many other genre/style specific habits.
