What have I not done in the music industry? I have played guitar in several bands and released 3 albums that received some radio play. One of the bands garnered quite a bit of major label attention. I have owned a recording studio for over a decade. I have managed record stores. I have been a radio DJ. I own a record label. I have produced hundreds of projects in every style of music. I would say that I would be best suited for sound engineering or recording lessons, songwriting lessons, or bass guitar lessons.
Eric Du has over 30 years of music experience in the Ottawa area.
Eric Du is proficient in and teaches .Formal Education:
Bachelor of Science in Sound Engineering with awards and distinctions. Classically training on saxophone and clarinet for 12 years.
Private Education:
In depth study of every text book I could find on the subject of recording and countless hours trying new techniques. Writing songs with a variety of songwriters in almost every genre. Producing artists from every genre and working with them to enhance and better their projects.
Performing Experience:
Started perfoming live in the early 80's and have performed a very wide variety of styles from classical to marching band to every variety of rock, country, metal and punk. Instruments I've performed with include: Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Saxophone, & Clarinet. I have run live sound for a variety of events including large music festivals.
Experience Teaching:
Have had several interns learn recording, engineering, and producing techniques at my studio. I have also worked with most of the bands/musicians that have recorded in my studio in some fashion or another with their songwriting.
