I help my students learn about using their voice with great vocal warmups, and we pick music that they love for them to use in performances, recitals, and auditions. They are in school productions and often are chosen for lead parts. We use CD's, karaoke machines, Playstation and Wii for Karaoke Revolution and Rock Band. With younger students, I use music and movement and singing favorite songs, especially traditional and folk songs to help them with school readiness. I love the collection from the Music Educators National Conference called Get America Singing Again, I use the accompaniment CD's to teach great traditional, spirituals, broadway and multicultural songs. I also use Disney songs and kids broadway song collections with accompaniment CD's, I especially like the ProVocal series. For teaching vocal techniques, I use the collections "Teach yourself to sing" and "You can Sing" and "Pop Vocal Warmups."
Monica Bo.- is proficient in and teaches Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Vocal Lessons .
Formal Education:
I have degrees in Music and Early Childhood Education from Orange Coast College and did undergraduate work at CSU Long Beach.
Experience Teaching:
I have been teaching private piano and voice lessons, full time, for over 20 years in Orange County. My students are children and adults from 3-73 years old. I have also taught music to children from 3 years old to 5th grade in churches, schools and internationally.
