20+ years music experienc Years
Hi, my name is Raekwon and I have been a dedicated student of music for over 20 years. I started on piano at a young age, and have since explored instruments such as guitar, violin, saxophone, and more, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of music as a whole. I am currently in the Music Production Program at Daytona State College, and have experience and knowledge in music recording, production, technology, live sound, and much more. My teaching style is a blend of music theory, philosophy, and practical application. I want students to understand not just how to play, but why music works, so they can develop their own creativity, confidence, think independently, and develop their unique musical voice. I primarily teach guitar/bass, but I can also teach songwriting and music production.
Raekwon M. has over 20+ years music experienc years of music experience in the Palm Coast area.
Raekwon M. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Song Writing Lessons, Orchestral Lessons, Record Engineer Produce .Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
In the first lesson, I want to get a base understanding of what the student is looking for from the classes. I will ask who their inspirations are, why they want to learn an instrument, and any other basic information that helps me create a lesson plan for the student. After I gauge their playing level, we typically go over fundamentals and techniques, and then we pick a song that they want to learn, and use that song as the basis for their future lessons or until they can perform the song well and want to move on.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
In the first lesson, I want to get a base understanding of what the student is looking for from the classes. I will ask who their inspirations are, why they want to write songs, and any other basic information that helps me create a lesson plan for the student. After this, I would ask the student if they are working on any songs, and if they'd prefer to study songwriting from other artists first, or if they want to work on their own song. Songwriting is a lot of theory, philosophy, and practice more so than it is rote memorization or muscle memory. The goal is to find the student's voice and figure out what they have to share with the world.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
In the first lesson, I want to get a base understanding of what the student is looking for from the classes. I will ask who their inspirations are, why they want to produce/record music, and any other basic information that helps me create a lesson plan for the student. Record production requires a blend of intuition and rote knowledge which combine to create a cohesive mix. I would be able to teach students important information about recording technology, DAWs, sound synthesis, and general music production knowledge.
Formal Education:
Music Production and Technology program at Daytona State College
Private Education:
Performing Experience:
At Daytona State College we are required to stage a concert performance at least twice throughout the program. I have recently performed the first show for the semester, and will have 3 more performances in the next year.
Experience Teaching:
No formal experience teaching, but I have tutored students for Spanish lessons, and I am currently a Dog Trainer at PetCo, so I teach multiple 1-hour lessons daily at differing levels of understanding, such as a Puppy class vs an Intermediate/Advanced class.
